A Quick Bio
(Of course other stuff happened along the way)
Steve Lawrence comes from a varied background of private business ownership and education. His early disenfranchisement with formal education set him on the path of apprenticeships in HVAC mechanical design and eventually to be the youngest sales rep to work for the largest wholesale company in the Northeastern US. In discovering the cut-throat nature of sales at such a high level, he thought it best to work for himself, and opened his own contracting company in upstate New York at the age of 26.
In meeting his now wife, a teacher, he discovered a new and amazing side of education, and after acquiring the New York State teaching certification, he and his wife set out to SW Asia in the fall of 2009. In Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar he's taught a range of subjects from English Language Arts, Global History, Economics, Business, Psychology, and a number of professional workshops with a focus on yogic philosophy.
Throughout it all he's fallen back on the practices learned from his beloved teacher and mentor Leonard Perlmutter (Ram Lev) from the American Meditation Institute in upstate New York. It wasn't long before the practices of meditation and yogic philosophies found their way into the classroom as they had in nearly every other aspect of his life.
